A popular, valuable companion to the Melanated Classic Tarot Deck, the academy uses an organic, unified approach to teach the whole system of tarot by using the ancient frameworks of astrology & numerology, & then reflecting on your personal life experiences to ground the lessons.
The class consists of 8 video modules, narrated by Oubria, that explains each tarot card individually. Also includes short, introspective homework assignments, & takes between 6 - 8 weeks to complete.

The Course in Shadow Work began as a blog in November 2020. A large group of women & I decided we would explore the dark side of each card in the Minor Arcana of Tarot (minus the Court Cards), because each of the 36 Minor Arcana scenes represent a particular moment in a human life. By examining the shadow side of each of these instances, we painstakingly, begrudgingly, worked through our shit. The first 29 blog posts (written by Oubria), explore the imagery & message of each card, & then use personal examples (some traumatic & triggering) to anchor the lesson into real life experience. After participants read each post, they are encouraged to comment with whatever experience, memory or reaction that surfaces from the deep.
The last 7 messages (about an hour each) are private You Tube videos recorded by Oubria. They are less about the darkness & more about the first wobbly steps into the light. Click below to read the post about the Ten of Swords (Sun in Gemini) here:
This is a deeply personal, writing experience where you'll use the 22 Major Arcana cards as tools to unearth the stories that structure your life. Many of us feel called to write our stories down, so that others can benefit from our experiences; or sometimes we just want to process all that has happened. In both cases, it can feel overwhelming to begin. And for those determined enough to start, inevitably there comes a moment when it feels pointless to continue.
This is why tarot is so helpful, because the Major Arcana is divided into universal themes / energies / archetypes that we have all experienced in some form or another. Using these images & the prompts they inspire, you will write our memories in a series of cohesive stories, in order to "read" yourself & process the messages your life has been trying to send all along.
